Prior to forming Capitol Strategies Consulting, Carole Green served as Secretary of the Department of Elder Affairs under Governor Jeb Bush. She has more than 30 years of experience in public service and healthcare. Carole was elected to three two-year terms as a Florida State Representative serving Lee and Collier counties. In 1999, she was appointed Majority Whip of the House of Representatives. She served as the chairman for the Subcommittee on Health Care Appropriations, the chairman of the Elder & Long-Term Care committee and vice chairman of the Banking & Finance Committee. In addition, Carole served on the Committee on the Future of Florida’s Families, the Committee on Health Care, the Policy Committee, the Committee on Appropriations, the Select Committee on Medical Liability Insurance, the Select Committee on Constitutional Amendments and the Select Committee on Nursing Homes. Prior to serving the Florida Legislature, Carole was elected to one four-year term on the Lee Memorial Health System Board of Directors.
Carole has been recognized for her leadership with multiple state and national organizations. In addition, she has received numerous awards from various entities for her achievements as a legislator and as the Secretary of the Department of Elder Affairs. In 2003, the Miami Herald ranked Carole the seventh most effective legislator and highest-ranked female legislator in the Florida House of Representatives.
